French is one of Canada’s two official languages. Nearly 100,000 bilingual people live in Greater Calgary, one-third of whom are Francophones. There are also numerous people, both youths and adults, who are learning French.
The Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta (ACFA) – Régionale de Calgary created this online volunteer portal and the resulting services to address the need for the search and coordination of French-speaking volunteers. The Bilingual Volunteering Project enables bilingual volunteers and the organizations seeking them in Greater Calgary to find each other more easily.
Volunteers on this portal can bring a bilingual flavour to your events.
Volunteers help organizations build strong and broad ties with the community and act as enthusiastic ambassadors for partner organizations by promoting bilingualism.
The BBBV fosters community vitality and inclusion.
The portal allows volunteers to expand their French-speaking network in Calgary and to develop a sense of belonging to their community. Volunteers can also pass on their knowledge and strengthen their French skills during your organisation’s events.
- Promote French-language volunteering and bilingualism in the Greater Calgary area
